● US Job Openings Jump 333,000 in September
US job openings jumped by 333,000 in September to 7.52 million, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said, a reading far stronger than markets expected. Professional and business services added 106,000 openings while state and local government outside education rose by 104,000. August's total was also revised up by 111,000, to 7.19 million. The dollar ($DXY) firmed as traders priced in less room for the Federal Reserve to keep cutting rates.
