Oracle Sells $20 Billion in Stock and Bonds
Oracle raised $20 billion this week by selling $10 billion in new common stock alongside $10 billion in senior notes, according to its SEC prospectus filings. The bond side split into five tranches, from notes due 2029 paying 7.000% to notes due 2046 paying 8.650% interest. Oracle priced the stock offering off the October 30 closing price of $130.67 a share, and the company says proceeds can go toward capital expenditures, debt repayment or buybacks. The move pairs equity and debt in a single week, a split rarely seen at this size from $ORCL.
