US OIL RESERVES HIT LOWEST SINCE 1982
The US Strategic Petroleum Reserve dropped to 283.8 million barrels in the week ended September 25, down about 785,000 barrels from the prior week's 284.6 million, according to EIA data. That is the lowest level since 1982, after years of releases that keep draining the cushion built for supply shocks. Crude tracked by $USO now sits on top of the thinnest emergency buffer in more than four decades.
