
CONSUMER CONFIDENCE FALLS TO LOWEST SINCE 2014
The Conference Board's Consumer Confidence Index dropped 6.7 points in September to 81.9, its lowest since April 2014 and its fourth straight monthly decline. The Present Situation Index fell to 109.3, its lowest since February 2021, while expectations slid to 63.6. Consumers keep pointing to high prices and gasoline as the main drag, a warning sign for retail stocks $XRT.
