JAPAN'S 10-YEAR YIELD HITS HIGHEST SINCE 1996

Japan's 10-year government bond yield closed at 3.10% on October 2, its highest since August 1996 and up from 1.66% a year ago, according to Japan's Ministry of Finance. Japanese money is also leaving US debt: Japan held $1.10 trillion in Treasuries $TLT in July, about $135 billion less than in February, per the US Treasury. Viral claims of a $5 trillion dump are wrong; Japan doesn't hold anywhere near that much.
