MICROSOFT OFFERS BUYOUTS TO 60,000 WORKERS
Microsoft is offering voluntary buyouts to roughly 60,000 employees, more than a quarter of its 223,000-person workforce, spanning the US, Canada, India and the UK. The offer covers vice-president-level staff and below in Xbox, Windows, Copilot and Finance, excluding data-center, sales and marketing teams. $MSFT is widening the cuts far beyond an earlier round in April, when only 8,750 retirement-age workers were eligible. The company is freeing up cash as it pours billions into AI infrastructure.
