BON SECOURS NEARS $6 BILLION SURGERY PARTNERS DEAL
Nonprofit hospital system Bon Secours is closing in on a deal to buy surgical-center operator Surgery Partners ($SGRY) for close to $6 billion, according to a Financial Times report, with an announcement possible as soon as Monday. The price marks a sharp reversal for Surgery Partners, which in June 2025 rejected a $3.3 billion take-private bid from its largest shareholder, Bain Capital, arguing it had a stronger future as a public company. Sixteen months later, the surgical-center chain is set to sell for nearly double that number, this time to a nonprofit health system instead of a private equity firm.
