MICROSOFT'S CAPEX BILL NEARLY DOUBLES IN A YEAR
Microsoft spent $115.9 billion on property and equipment in fiscal 2026, up from $64.6 billion the year before, according to its SEC filing. The jump was sharper in the final quarter alone: capex hit $35.8 billion between April and June, more than double the $17.1 billion spent in the same quarter a year earlier. Microsoft ($MSFT) reports its next results this Wednesday, the same day the Federal Reserve announces its rate decision. The bill for the AI buildout keeps climbing faster than the company's own prior year pace.
