RBA LIFTS RATE TO 4.60% KEEPS DOOR OPEN
The Reserve Bank of Australia raised its cash rate to 4.60% in September and said it would hike again "if needed" to bring inflation back to target. Consumer prices rose 4% in August, still above target. Markets are now pricing roughly 51% odds of another increase when the board meets in November, after assistant governor Sarah Hunter said this week the inflation fight is "not quite yet" over. The $EWA Australia ETF barely reacted to the signal.
