AMERICAN AIRLINES WARNS ON $2.8 BILLION FUEL HIT
American Airlines ($AAL) grew third-quarter passenger revenue 19.5% to $14.90 billion, its best pace in years. But the carrier now warns fuel costs will jump $2.8 billion in the fourth quarter, with jet fuel near $4.70 a gallon, nearly double what it paid a year ago. American says the increase is steep enough to slow its 2027 network growth from this year's pace.
