UNITED AIRLINES EARNINGS SQUEEZED BY FUEL SURGE
United Airlines posted record third-quarter revenue of $17.9 billion, up 17.4% from a year earlier, while adjusted earnings per share landed at $2.54 as fuel expense jumped $1.8 billion, a 62% increase from the third quarter of 2025. CEO Scott Kirby said the carrier met the challenge of a volatile environment despite that fuel spike. Record revenue at $UAL was not enough to fully offset the surge in jet fuel costs this quarter.
