ANGLO AMERICAN COPPER FALLS 5% ON CHILE WEATHER
Anglo American's copper production fell to 174,900 tonnes in the third quarter of 2026, a 5% drop from a year earlier, after unprecedented winter weather in Chile and lower-grade stockpiled ore at the Collahuasi mine slowed output. The miner left its full-year guidance untouched at 700,000 to 760,000 tonnes, saying higher ore grades expected in the fourth quarter should close the gap. The report keeps the market focused on Chilean supply risk at a time when every major copper producer, including large caps like Freeport-McMoRan ($FCX), is under scrutiny for the same weather exposure.
