PARIS COURT HANDS ALIGN A PATENT WIN

The Paris Local Division of the Unified Patent Court ruled on October 16 that Angelalign's Torque Ridges feature infringes a patent held by Align Technology ($ALGN) on repositioning teeth during clear aligner treatment. Angelalign had already pulled Torque Ridges from Europe in September, replacing it with an upgraded feature called Pressure Points, so the ruling lands on a feature its own customers were no longer using. The decision does not reach Spain, the UK, or any market outside Europe, where Angelalign keeps selling clear aligners under the same brand.
