US EXPORT PRICES MORE THAN DOUBLE FORECASTS

U.S. export prices jumped 2.2% in September, more than double the 0.9% gain economists forecast, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. Import prices rose 1.1% in the same month, also beating estimates. The upside surprise in trade prices adds to the inflation pipeline watched by rate-setters, keeping the dollar ($UUP) bid as traders reassess how long the Federal Reserve can hold its current policy stance.
