● US INFLATION ACCELERATES TO 3.7% IN SEPTEMBER

US consumer prices rose 3.7% year-over-year in September, up from 3.4% in August, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. Gasoline jumped 9.1% for the month, driving over half of the total increase in the index. Core inflation, which strips out food and energy, climbed to 2.6% from 2.4%. Treasury yields jumped and $TLT slid on the data as traders priced in a longer road back to the Fed's target. The reacceleration leaves the central bank with less room to keep cutting rates.
