TRADE DESK CEO'S $148 MILLION BET SITS UNDERWATER
Jeff Green, founder, chairman and CEO of The Trade Desk, bought 6 million shares of his own company between March 2 and March 4, paying between $23.49 and $25.08 apiece for a total of $148.1 million, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The ad-tech firm's stock, $TTD, now trades near $12, less than half of what Green paid for the bulk of his position. Every Form 4 Green has filed since the purchase, in May, August and September, shows internal trust transfers and stock option awards, but no sale transactions. Seven months after one of the largest insider buys in the company's history, the CEO is sitting on a steep paper loss and has not sold a single share.
