ALBERTSONS SEEKS $9.3 BILLION FROM KROGER

Albertsons has filed court documents demanding $9.3 billion from Kroger over the grocery chains' collapsed $24.6 billion merger. The sum dwarfs the $600 million termination fee set in the original contract, with Albertsons ($ACI) adding $75 million in interest and the stockholder premium it says Kroger ($KR) cost it. A Delaware judge will hear the two-week trial starting later this month.
