QUALCOMM WINS $2 VERDICT AGAINST ARM
A Delaware jury found that Arm Holdings breached its architectural license agreement with Qualcomm ($QCOM) and intentionally sought to disrupt Qualcomm's business, according to Qualcomm's own statement on the verdict. The jury awarded Qualcomm just $2 in nominal damages, tied to claims that Arm withheld software tools needed to verify Qualcomm's custom Oryon chip cores. Qualcomm shares rose 1.52% after the ruling, while Arm ($ARM) shares fell 0.61%, as the finding undercuts Arm's push for higher royalties from its largest customer.
