BROADCOM CEO LIKENS AI BOOM TO CASINO
Broadcom CEO Hock Tan said many AI investors "have no clue what they are investing in," comparing the frenzy to a casino, even as $AVGO is forecasting its own AI chip revenue will more than quadruple to $230 billion by fiscal 2028, from about $58 billion this year. Tan pointed to OpenAI's roughly $50 billion in annualized revenue as proof of real demand, but questioned whether that growth translates into lasting profits. The comments, made Monday in Singapore, underline the tension between Broadcom's aggressive AI buildout and its own CEO's doubts about who is actually paying for it.
