GOLD ETFS LOG RECORD $31 BILLION QUARTER
Global gold ETFs posted record third-quarter inflows of $31 billion, the World Gold Council says, lifting combined holdings to an all-time high of 4,256 tonnes. Even so, total assets under management slipped to $574 billion in September, as a drop in the metal's price outweighed the fresh buying. Investors kept adding ounces to funds like $GLD even as the value of what they already held shrank.
