TREASURY REOPENS U.S. MARKET TO RUSSIAN DIESEL
The U.S. Treasury authorized the sale, delivery and importation of Russian-origin diesel fuel into the United States, effective October 9, 2026 and running through April 7, 2027. The move reverses sanctions that have kept Russian diesel out of U.S. markets since the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, following a call between Trump and Putin on expanding global energy supply. U.S. refiners such as $VLO now face fresh import competition just as the country enters peak winter heating-oil demand.
