US JET DISABLES SHIP RUNNING IRAN BLOCKADE
A US military fighter jet struck the stern of the Panama-flagged cargo vessel Ocean Molica with a precision munition on October 10, disabling its propulsion after the ship left an Iranian port to run Washington's naval blockade. No crew members were hurt. It is the fourth commercial vessel disabled since the blockade resumed on July 14, a campaign that has also redirected 135 ships trying to reach Iranian waters. Tanker operators exposed to the Gulf of Oman route, such as $FRO, face a widening war-risk zone the longer enforcement continues.
