US DIESEL EASES FROM RECORD AMID PUTIN TALKS

US on-highway diesel averaged $6.199 a gallon for the week of October 5, down from the record $6.529 hit two weeks earlier, EIA data show. The pullback follows President Trump's push for Russia's Putin and European allies to release more diesel into the global market after Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries tightened supply. Diesel ($USO) is still roughly 67% above year-ago levels, a cost still flowing through freight and shipping.
