CARLYLE'S DEAL FOR LUKOIL ASSETS EXPIRES
Carlyle's ($CG) agreement to buy Lukoil's international assets has lapsed, Lukoil disclosed in its own annual report, after the US Treasury's OFAC never approved the deal signed in January. The agreement covered a 75% stake in Iraq's West Qurna-2 oil field, held through Lukoil International Upstream Holding, and excluded Lukoil's Kazakhstan assets. Lukoil is now negotiating with other buyers for the same portfolio, eight months after the original deal was struck.
