US SUSPENDS EIGHT IT FIRMS FROM GREEN-CARD PROGRAM
The US Labor Department suspended eight companies, including Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCL, Microsoft and Adobe, from the PERM program that leads to green cards, Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling announced Thursday. Since 2009, those firms requested nearly 3 million foreign workers and won more than 230,000 H-1B visa approvals through the same pipeline now frozen. Infosys shares ($INFY) were little changed on the news.
