U.S. SANCTIONS 17 IRAN SHADOW FLEET TANKERS

The U.S. Treasury sanctioned 17 tankers and 13 shipping companies on October 8, the latest round of its "Operation Economic Outcast" campaign against Iran's oil shadow fleet. One tanker alone, the SHENZHEN, has moved more than 3.5 million barrels of Iranian crude since November 2025. The same action delisted two previously sanctioned ships, the Hakuna Matata and the Pinocchio, after a change in ownership. Oil benchmarks like $USO stay bid as Washington squeezes Tehran's export revenue while avoiding direct military strikes.
