HALLADOR LOCKS $271 MILLION POWER DEAL WITH DUKE
Hallador Power just signed a six-year capacity and energy agreement with Duke Energy Indiana, tied to its Merom coal plant in Indiana. Duke Energy Indiana will pay about $271 million for the capacity piece alone, plus an estimated $422 million in energy revenue, running from 2029 through 2035. The capacity price lands more than 20% above the deal Hallador struck back in March, a sign of how tight Midwest power supply has gotten as data centers soak up the grid. $HNRG is riding a wave most coal operators thought was over a decade ago.
