
BECTON DICKINSON PLEDGES $19 BILLION IN THE US TO DODGE MEDICAL DEVICE TARIFFS
$BDX became the first major US medical device company to strike a deal with the government, pledging $19 billion over several years in exchange for relief from future Section 232 tariffs. $3 billion goes to manufacturing sites, with more than $1 billion in Nebraska. Trump said "strong" medical device tariffs are coming by year-end. BD plans to make all needles used in the US with American steel and raise its domestic supply share to about 80%.
